What's Stopping YOU?

God has been speaking to me about this for a while, and all I can say is that it made me lay on my face and cry out to Him about things that were stopping me from doing what He told me to do. It got to the point where I walked into the restroom and it was a big writing on the wall stating, "What's Stopping You"? It makes you ponder on how many signs and wonders does it takes for God to get our attention to do what He wants and needs for us to do! It's like He's constantly speaking to us to press through; yet we don't step out on faith to do the things He's called us to do! So, you wait until the next time for God to give you a word, then wait for someone to give you a confirming word, then you feel the tugs at your heart, then you get distracted, and then depressed. Please stop, pray, Hear the voice and most of all, obey! In the words of my sis, Shirah Whitehead, " Your obedience is contingent to your blessings." --- In fact, that is

Be Thankful!

Ephesians 5:20  And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. NLT.       Today, may be the day where you spend time with your close relatives, chowing down on some delicious holiday cooking, and plus more! However, have you sat down and spoke to the Lord letting him know all the things you are thankful for--- at all times? The spirit of Thanksgiving should never come from in due season or in certain circumstances but should be given at all times.  Let your "thanks and giving" not be seasonal but at all times!   For it says in his Word,   Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT (Sad but true at times)      Sadly, around the holiday season some give thanks to God on  Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter and then it's back to them being rooted in their own selfish motives, ambitions and dreams. For some, it may be a time where they sit and mourn

How to Be Intimate with God

It's Friday, and to some, you may say T.G.I.F as in, Thank God It's Friday, Thank God I'm Favored, or Thank God I'm Forgiven! But God pressed in my heart  for the past month to say, Thank God I'm Free, referring to John 8:36. Free from bondage, my past, my failures, my pain, my hurt, my mess-ups, and downfalls. God gives life so much more meaning than all of that! He awakes us each day with new set of mercies. Whew! So thankful for Jesus and growing in this walk and love with Him. Finally had a moment and share this blog about how to be intimate with Him:  Are you feeling tugs at your heart saying let go of this, spend more time with God? Get off your cell phone, facebook, twitter, instagram, social cam, or etc., because those are distractions that are keeping you from spending time with God? Ever sat wondering, God, I see you working through sister or brother so and so, and moving on their behalf, but what about me? God, I want to get to know you even mor

A Negative Statistic? No. Never!

“No. That will never happen to me. I’m better than that.” These are the profound words uttered by this writer when her elementary school principal discovered that she was pregnant at the tender age of 13. She had just been told that she would end up “Just another negative welfare statistic.”          The young teen was an honor roll student and had gotten pregnant the same day she lost her virginity. Today she is 69. Her son is 56. Much has happened over the past 50 years. Her name continues to be on the “honor roll.” But one roll she has never been on is the welfare roll. Instead, she has established programs to get mothers off the welfare rolls.           When you look at this woman’s life, two words come to mind: “Courage” and “Survivor.” She has survived childhood abandonment, abuse and teen pregnancy, emotional and domestic violence in her first failed marriage, alcoholism, and a family history of mental illness. The writer chronicles these events in her autobiog

Two Young Women on the Rise and Pressing Forth for Godly Success!

The Scripture of the Week was Ecclesiates 3:1-11, which talks about the seasons for the activities under the Heavens. Do you know which season you are in? Don't try to figure it all out but stand to know that God may be preparing you or could be releasing you? God spoke to me and many whom I know that this is the year where God is going to manifest things for His children. The creative ideas, businesses, employment, books & etc that you ask God for are going to happen in this season! Do you believe it?  God is ready to bless you! There are many who are in labour and are ready to birth the great things that God predestined them to do. Well, this is the nineth month of the year and yes, it is the time to birth what God has sent you to do! It's time to stop holding yourself back, carry the armor of God and go forth!   I've recently had the opportunity of interviewing,  Editor in Chief of Teen Era Magazine , Shirah Whitehead and Author of the upcoming book,  Confidence o
